Man slits nephew's throat over ‘harassment’, chops body into three pieces; disposes of them at different places in Andhra Pradesh

VISAKHAPATNAM: A man hacked his nephew (sister’s son) to death over “harassment” at Ganaparthi village under Munagapaka police station limits in Anakapalle district in Andhra Pradesh.

The accused — G Srinivasa Rao popular as Srinu (48) — chopped the body of Lova Raju (30) into three pieces and stuffed them in bags and tried to dispose of them at different places.

The deceased — who was addicted to liquor and would harass his uncle and his family — used to demand money for booze.

Raju, whose parents died around 15 years ago, grew up in his uncle Srinu’s home at Parawada locality in Anakapalle district.

Srinu has been running a meat shop at Ganaparthi village for the past few months where Lova Raju assisted him.

Raju had stolen money from the meat shop many times to satisfy his vices.

He picked up fights with his uncle for money, insulted and had threatened him many times.

A few months ago, Raju went to Narsipatnam following a heated argument and worked in a meat shop.

However, he returned to Ganaparthi a few days ago and again worked in his uncle’s shop.

On Tuesday night, Raju and his uncle Srinu consumed liquor near the meat shop.

In an inebriated state, the nephew picked up a fight with his uncle for money.

“Unable to bear further harassment”, Srinu murdered him by slitting his throat with a knife.

Later, Srinu chopped the body into three pieces and packed it in plastic bags.

Srinu tried to dispose of one part of the body by burning it in the wee hours on Wednesday.

But the locals observed when Srinu was pouring petrol on the body parts and set fire to the parts.

“We nabbed Srinu when he was trying to flee the village. We have seized the body parts of Lova Raju near the meat shop. A case has been registered against Srinu under Section 302 of the IPC and the body parts were shifted for post-mortem,” said sub-inspector of Munagapaka Md Ali.
