Man slashed in face by knifeman in 'unprovoked' broad daylight attack on high street

Police have released CCTV footage of a man they need to trace in connection with a knife attack in north-west London.

Officers were called to Willesden High Road at 11.45am on Monday July 7, following reports of an altercation.

Upon arrival, they found the victim — a man in his 30s — had been slashed with a knife, suffering facial injuries.

He was treated by paramedics from London Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital.

The victim’s injuries were later confirmed to be non-life changing or threatening, the Metropolitan Police said.

No arrests have yet been made and the investigation so far has led police to believe the attack was unprovoked.

Police have now released CCTV footage of a man they would like to trace — and anyone who knows his identity is urged to get in touch.

The person they are seeking to identify is a 6ft tall Black man with a medium build. He has a bald head and facial hair in the style of a goatee.

When captured on CCTV, he was wearing a white hoodie with black print on the arms, and red tracksuit trousers.

The man is believed to have re-visited the location to ask about what happened during the incident on Friday, August 29.

Detective Constable Gabriela Cociasi, leading the investigation, said: “This attack happened in the middle of the morning on a busy high street. Its brazen nature will understandably alarm the community, however our officers continue to work tirelessly to identify the suspect. We now need your help.

“If anyone knows who this man is, or has any information in relation to the incident on Monday, 7 July, please contact us as a matter of urgency on 101 quoting CAD 3149/07JUL25. If you see him in the community, do not approach him and instead dial 999.”

Those who want to share information and remain anonymous can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
