Man slashed by two thugs in his Paisley home

Detectives are hunting two thugs who brutally slashed a man in a Paisley house.

The pair burst into the 21-year-old's home in Grampian Avenue and launched a vicious blade attack in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Officers attended at around 12.20am and the injured man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he is being treated for a facial laceration. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

Detective Constable Karen Smith of Paisley Police Station said: “We have been carrying out enquiries in the area of Grampian Avenue and we are gathering local CCTV footage to help us with our investigation and identify the two men responsible.

“After the attack, the two men may have left in a dark coloured car, and at this time we are working to establish if this is the case and trace any vehicle. I would ask anyone in the area, or anyone driving nearby with dash-cam footage who saw a dark-coloured car to contact us.”

Anyone with information on this crime should contact Paisley Police Station through 101 quoting reference number 0078 of 14 February.

Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
