Man 'slashed and stabbed' in Glasgow street as cops launch major probe

Police have cordoned off a street in Glasgow following reports a man was "slashed and stabbed" in a horror attack.

Officers have been standing guard on Scaraway Street in the Milton area of the city since the alleged incident last night.

Locals spotted a huge emergency response at around midnight on Monday.

Some concerned residents took to social media to comment on the drama.

Writing on the No1seems2care Facebook page, one said: "Someone's been stabbed apparently, went for the bus at terminus and had to walk to Colston road, bumped into my neighbour and she told me someone had been stabbed."

While another added: "Thought it was something serious with police all there and shops not open."

A third wrote: "Talking to a neighbour told me a guy has been slashed and stabbed. They are searching the area for the weapon."

Several police vans and officers remained on the scene before 11am this morning.

Police Scotland have been approached by the Daily Record for a comment.
