An Ellesmere Port man who crashed into a lamppost on the M56 before being stopped by officers and registering one of the highest drink drive readings ever seen by Cheshire police was jailed.
Vladimir Bekes, from Welsh Road in Childer Thornton near Ellesmere Port was stopped by officers in the early hours of Friday, June 4 after being reported by a member of the public.
The 37 year old had been travelling on the M56 near Ellesmere Port when he collided with a lamp post near the A540 in his Ford Mondeo.

Bekes was described as being "unsteady on his feet" when he got out of his car after being stopped by officers at traffic lights.
A member of the public had flagged down the passing police car and pointed out Bekes, who was so drunk he had to be escorted out of his car.
A breath test carried out at the scene recorded a reading of 216, one of the highest that Cheshire Police has ever recorded and which left officers at the scene "in shock".
Bekes was then taken into custody and subsequently charged.
At Chester Magistrates Court today (Monday 7 June) Bekes was sentenced to 19 weeks in prison for offences which included driving while disqualified, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and failing to comply with supervision requirements.
PC George Aza, from Cheshire Constabulary’s Roads and Crime Unit, who stopped Bekes at the scene, said: “Bekes’ breath test is possibly one of the highest readings we have ever recorded in Cheshire.
“I was in shock when he blew a staggering 216 at the road side.
"Had the member of the public not reported him to police the potential consequences of his actions could have been horrendous.
“I want to personally thank them for making me aware of Bekes as it enabled me to bring his driving to a stop and led to a dangerous driver being taken off Cheshire’s roads.”
