A man took to TikTok to see if he could handle the stresses of pregnancy. Spoiler: He couldn’t.

Maitland Hanley (@maitlandhanley) took to the app to live a day in the life of a pregnant person. In the clip titled, ‘Man tries being pregnant for a day, he wrapped a watermelon around his stomach with clingfilm. He also added two additional ones to mimic fuller breasts.

In the TikTok, which has racked an impressive 15.8 million views, his partner can be heard mimicking the sound of an alarm clock. The ‘pregnant man’ is showed laying in bed “like a tortoise on its back.”

He confidently tells the camera to “watch this” before making a failed attempt to fling himself off the bed with the extra weight – and got stuck.

Viewers can hear his partner and friend in the background in hysterics.

Fellow TikTok users found the video hilarious. One commented, “I wish we could fling ourselves like that without pulling a ligament or muscle.”

While another joked, “Why is he not using his hands? Pregnancy took his ability to think.”

In a follow-up video, Maitland took the pregnancy experiment to the next level by adding another watermelon to imitate carrying twins.

In a more strategic approach, he optimistically tells himself, “We sit up first”, which was soon cut short after he realised, “It’s impossible, dude.”

“You can’t sit up”, he added.
