A man was shot to death Wednesday night in Lawndale on the West Side.
Mario Heath, 37, was standing outside in the 1200 block of South Kedzie Avenue when a van stopped across the street and someone inside opened fire about 8:10 p.m., Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Heath was struck in the jaw and chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy conducted Thursday ruled his death a homicide.
The van fled the scene and no one was in custody, police said.
