A man was killed and another was critically wounded in a shooting Sunday in Lawndale on the West Side.

They were in a vehicle heading east about 10:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of West Roosevelt Road when someone fired shots from the passenger side of an approaching vehicle, according to Chicago police.

The driver, 27, was shot multiple times throughout his body and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died a short time later, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Joe McGee Jr. He lived on the Near West Side.

The other man, 18, was hit multiple times and taken to the same hospital in critical condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
