A 21-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday in northwest Indiana
Damarius Carr, of Gary, was brought to Methodist Northlake Hospital with gunshot wounds, according to Gary police and the Lake County coroner’s office.
Officers responded to the hospital, where Carr was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m., authorities said.
Police released few details, but said the shooting happened near 12th Avenue and Johnson Street in Gary.
An autopsy found he died of a gun shot wound, the coroner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
The shooting is being investigated by the Gary Metro homicide unit, Lake County CSI, Gary police and the coroner’s office.
