Man shot, killed in Gary

A 35-year-old man was killed in a shooting Sunday in northwest Indiana.

Authorities responded about 11:25 p.m. to the 600 block of Adams Street in Gary and found Jeriel Odie with gunshot wounds, according to the Lake County coroner’s office.

He was pronounced dead just after midnight Monday, the coroner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

Gary police did not immediately respond to a request for additional information.
