
A man was killed in a shooting Wednesday in Englewood on the South Side, according to police.
The 39-year-old was on the sidewalk about 6:49 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Union Avenue when someone approached him and opened fire, Chicago police said.
The man was hit once to the facial area and once to the thigh, police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.
Area South detectives are investigating.
