Man shot, killed at Burnside gas station

A 24-year-old man was killed Tuesday when he was shot in Burnside on the South Side.

About 9:09 p.m., he was at a gas station in the 8700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when someone approached him from behind and shot him in the head, Chicago police said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about his death.

No arrests have been made as Area South detectives investigate.
