A man died after he was shot during an argument Saturday on the South Side, police said.
About 8:24 p.m., the 30-year-old was arguing with someone in the 100 block of West Swann Street when a fight broke out and the other person pulled out a gun and fired shots, Chicago police said.
The man was struck in the leg and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A suspect was taken into custody, but as of Monday had been released without charges, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Shamar Rice. He lived in Englewood.
An autopsy conducted Sunday ruled Rice’s death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
Area One detectives are investigating.
