A man was shot in the throat Friday in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The 26-year-old claimed he was shot by someone he knew about 10:35 p.m. in the 8100 bock of South Muskegon Avenue, Chicago police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, police said. The man was unable to say more about the shooter, and witnesses at the scene were uncooperative with investigators, police said.
