A man has been shot with an air gun in Kew after he confronted two men who were tampering with his motorbike.

Police are searching for two men connected with the incident, which occurred on January 24.

Officers said a man in his 40s noticed two men tampering with his motorbike as he got into his car at Melliss Avenue around 11pm.

The pair ran off when the man confronted them but police said one then turned back and fired an air pistol at him.

The man was taken to hospital with injuries to his face but has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made and police would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident.
