A man was fatally shot Tuesday in far south suburban University Park.
Demetrius Ferguson, 37, was shot in the chest about 10:23 p.m. in the 500 block of University Park Way, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
He was taken to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in south suburban Chicago Heights.
An autopsy released Wednesday ruled Ferguson’s death as a homicide.
University Park police did not immediately reply to a request for details.
