Man shot dead in South Shore: police

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.

He was in the 1900 block of East 75th Street about 8:20 p.m. when someone approached and fired shots, striking him, Chicago police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
