An 18-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in north suburban Mundelein, according to police.
Officers responded about 1 p.m. to gunfire in the 300 block of North Lake Street and found a man gravely wounded, Mundelein police said in a statement. He was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and pronounced dead.
Investigators believe he was shot by someone he met for “some type of exchange,” police said. The shooter ran away while someone in another vehicle drove off.
The Lake County coroner’s office has not released his name.
