Man shot dead in McKinley Park: police

A man was fatally shot Friday in McKinley Park on the South Side, police said.

About 6:50 p.m., he was in the 3400 block of South Paulina Street when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

The 21-year-old was struck in the face and back, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.

Area One detectives are investigating.
