A 52-year-old man was shot and killed while riding in the backseat of a car Monday morning in Irving Park on the Northwest Side.

He was shot by someone inside a passing Honda Odyssey about 4:45 a.m. in the 4100 block of West Irving Park Road, Chicago police said.

The man, shot in his legs, was driven to Community First Hospital and was set to be transferred to Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Police said he was pronounced dead about 7 a.m.

Two others in the vehicle were uninjured.

The man, whose name hasn’t been released, was one of at least seven people killed in citywide gun violence between Friday evening and Monday morning.
