A man was fatally shot inside a home Monday in Gresham on the South Side, police said.

The 33-year-old was found unresponsive about 9:15 p.m. on the kitchen floor of a residence in the 8300 block of South Kerfoot Avenue with a gunshot wound to the face, Chicago police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Pierre Macon. He lived in Grand Crossing.

Police said the man was in the home with a group of people when shots were fired, but further details were not released.
