Man shot dead in Gage Park home: police

A man was shot and killed Friday morning in Gage Park on the Southwest Side, according to police.

The man, about 19 years old, was shot in the head inside a home about 5:30 a.m. in the 5400 block of South Talman Avenue, Chicago police said. He died at the scene.

A witness called police to say his friend, whose name he couldn't remember, had been shot by someone who left the home, police said. The witness is being questioned by police.

The victim’s name has not been released by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Area One detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
