A man was shot to death Thursday in south suburban Calumet City.

Tyreese Cooper, 26, was shot about 4:50 p.m. in the 2000 block of Sibley Boulevard, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Police and medical personnel responded and took him to a trauma center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m., Calumet City police and the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy released Friday found that Cooper died of a gunshot wound to his head, the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Country Club Hills.

Police released few details about the shooting, and did not immediately return requests for comment.
