A 60-year-old man was killed, and another man was wounded in a shooting Friday — hours after three people were shot in the same block in Chatham.

The men were in a first floor apartment about 9:52 p.m. in the 8200 block of South Drexel Avenue when a male kicked in the door and unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.

The 60-year-old was struck in the neck and pronounced on the scene, police said. A 23-year-old man was hit in the arm, and he was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition.

About 5:30 p.m., a 14-year-old boy, 21-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were shot in the same block.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about the death.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
