A man was shot dead by a man whose girlfriend claimed he had started a rumour about receiving oral sex from her at their high school prom.
James Freeman and Camae Abrahams confronted Deandr'e Willingham outside an apartment complex in Superior Township, Michigan at about 1 pm on October 8, 2017.
Abrahams slapped Mr Willingham, claiming he had started a rumour about her performing oral sex on him at the prom.
He raised his fist as if to strike Abrahams, 22, before lowering his arm and starting to walk away.
Freeman then pulled out a gun and fatally shot the 20-year-old three times.

Freeman, also 20, told Washtenaw County Circuit Judge Darlene O’Brien that he had acted in self defence.
He claimed Mr Willingham had dropped his hand to his waist as if he were going to pull out a gun.
According to Mlive he said: “I was scared. He reaches for the handgun — he either shoots me or my wife.
“... I produced the weapon and used it to protect my wife.”

It is unclear whether Freeman and Abrahams are legally married, although they do have a child together.
According to prosecutors the couple fled the scene after the shooting.
They were spotted leaving the apartment complex in Abrahams’ grey Volkswagen Jetta and at a Walmart several hours after the killing.

At some point he threw his phone out of the car window before picking up his son and disposing of the gun in a dumpster.
He surrendered himself to police on October 10, 2017.
Freeman was found guilty of second-degree murder and Abrahams of accessory after the fact to murder.
The pair are due to be sentenced on June 20.
