
Police shot a person armed with a knife Thursday morning while responding to a domestic-related incident in west suburban Addison, police said.
Officers responded at 4:25 a.m. to the 200 block of North Mill Road, near Army Trail Road, to investigate a domestic disturbance, the Addison Police Department said in a statement.
Police entered and saw a person with the knife and commanded them to drop it, police said. The person advanced at the officers while holding the knife, and one officer fired and struck the person, police said. Officers and medical personnel provided medical attention, police said.
Police said the incident was isolated and there was no danger to the public.
The incident was being investigated by the DuPage Major Crimes Task Force, the department said.
