Man shares 'life changing' hack for all supermarket shoppers

A man has shared a hack to help knock time off your food shop.

Traipsing around a supermarket is a chore that we all have to do and it can take ages to do. But one savvy shopper has shared a 'life-changing' hack to shorten the time spent out the checkouts.

Matt, who posts online as @1980sgamer, took to TikTok to share a video that has been shared more than 22,000 times. The social media user said that instead of using plastic bags to pack your shopping you should instead use laundry baskets.

He advised that you pile your items back into the trolley without packing them at all. Then, when you get back to your car, you can use laundry baskets in the boot of your car to take the shopping home.

Matt explained that you can cut out all of the packing time at the checkout and can easily carry your shopping into your house once you get home, all while removing the need for a single plastic bag.

In the clip, he said: "The next time you go grocery shopping this hack will change your life. Just get all of your food like usual then begin the checkout process by throwing all your food up on the belt and then pay for your items.

"Now, you see all of these people wasting their time bagging their groceries? Yeah, skip that. Just head to your vehicle with all of your groceries lose in the trolley. Now, for this hack to work you're going to need two laundry baskets."

As he opened his boot to show his laundry baskets, he added: "Start throwing your food into those laundry baskets. Just keep throwing it in there until it's filled up to the top. Now you can just drive home. I just saved you a ton of time by skipping the bagging process with this great grocery hack."

Some followers added their own tips in the comments. One user wrote: "Get collapsible laundry baskets and put th under cart. Add groceries to them as you checkout. Boom. Saved you even more time."

Another added: "I do this at Costco but I just use their cardboard boxes." Meanwhile, a third said: "Bring the baskets to the grocery store. Now you are doing double work by loading/offloading."
