Man shares injuries after he was tortured in his own home by machete-armed gang

A man who was tortured in his own home has released horrific images of the injuries he suffered at the hands of a machete-armed gang.

The ghastly snaps show the gaping wounds inflicted on Jonathan Hair by the thugs, who also attacked his dog.

The 38-year-old was also battered with a hammer during the raid in January.

Jonathan, from Sunderland, posted the gruesome images this week as an appeal for help after police failed to make any arrests.

He is offering a £3,000 reward for information leading to conviction.

The images from the attack on January 23 show his bloodied body covered in cuts so deep that they reached his bones.

Further images reveal his swollen fingers held together by stitches, after his attackers attempted to hack them off.

Another image shows a picture of his dog slumped on the floor with marks to its body which could be the result of machete blows.

Video footage reveals dark blood stains in the carpet of his stairs and blood sprayed all over the stair banister in his home.

The footage also shows slash marks in his carpet and all over the wooden banister. And in a scene reminiscent of a horror movie, his bathroom is sprayed with blood.

He said: "Here's me sitting there, and they are trying to hit me with the machete."

In a Facebook post, he said: "Almost 7 weeks ago I awoke to noises in my house. I was confronted by 3 men armed with a machete, a butcher's knife and hammer. "

Jonathan said that he was tortured by three men to give up his company's monthly takings.

"They hit me in the head with the hammer until the blood spray covered most of the living room wall to almost the height of the ceiling and left me for dead."

Jonathan added the attackers took off with £4,000 that Jonathan's dad gave to him for a mortgage deposit.
