Man shares 'correct' way to fit toilet rim block - but not everyone's convinced

A man who claims to have discovered the 'correct' way to fit a toilet rim block has divided social media users online.

Fabian Coghetto took to TikTok, where he's known as @fibasince93, to explain how you should be fitting those little coloured blocks that clean our toilet when it's flushed.

Instead of hooking the item over the toilet bowl like most of us do, Fabian shared an unusual technique that he claims took him "27 years to figure out."

In a video that has been viewed more than 1.8 million times since being shared on the social media platform, he demonstrates putting the cleaning product where people usually put it.

Did you know this? (TikTok)

But then he removes the plastic that's overlapping the bowl, and instead, pushes it inside the rim of the toilet where it locks into place.

This means that the toilet seat will sit flush rather than resting on the plastic.

Since being shared, the video has racked up almost 40,000 likes and 2,000 comments from mind blown viewers.

One said: "I just learnt [this] after 49 [years]."

Another asked: "Why don't they put these picture instructions on the back of the packaging? SERIOUSLY."

"Omg all this time I have been doing it wrong," wrote a third.

But others weren't convinced, as one person said it falls out when you flush the toilet since it's not secured onto anything.

"I don't think so lol risking germs that way," said another.

And a third added: "I really don't think that's the way it's supposed to go."

What do you think of the hack? Let us know in the comments below.
