When applying for a passport, people often opt to pay for professional photographs. Given the importance of the ID, your photo must comply with a number of rules and regulations. But not everyone has the right lighting or backdrop to take these pictures at home.
So, it is common for applicants to pay to use a photo booth. However, less people might be paying to take photos from now on, as a man has shared the cheeky trick he uses to get similar photos for free. And people have been left stunned by the "genius" tip, after it was shared on TikTok.

Posted by @yd_mert, the video revealed how one man takes ID photos for a fraction of the cost - and the tip does not require any more effort than when visiting a photo booth.
You see, in the clip, he uses a photo booth to ensure the right set-up for his photographs. But rather than paying to use the machine's camera, he then has a friend take snaps on a phone, once he is positioned in the booth.
With his friend on hand to help out, the man takes his high-quality photos in a matter of seconds, all without paying a penny.

And viewers loved the cheeky video, which has racked up over eight million views.
"Clever," read one comment. "It pains me that I've never thought of this myself," said another.
While someone else recommended: "And get them printed in Boots."
According to UK regulations, passport photos need not be taken professionally, but they must be "printed to a professional standard."
However, savvy photographers should also take note that printed photos must measure 45mm high by 35mm wide, the standard size used in photo booths in the UK, among other requirements.
