Man shares a simple trick to save you a ton of time when doing the food shop

A man has shared a simple way to spend less time at the supermarket with what he has dubbed the "best shopping hack".

The man explained that he was able to cut down how long it takes him to go shopping in a video he shared on TikTok, where he's known as @1980sgamer.

Instead of packing all of his food into plastic bags once he's paid for it, he leaves everything loose in the trolley and heads to the car, which is where the hack comes into force.

In a clip that has been viewed 14.2 million times on the social media platform, he can be seen piling chicken broth, macaroni cheese and broccoli into his trolley as he says: "Just get all of your food like usual."

Then, begin the checkout process by putting all of your items onto the conveyor belt before paying for it all.

The next step is vital - do not bag up your shopping.

"You see all these people wasting their time bagging their groceries, yeah skip that," he added.

Instead, he says you should fill your trolley back up with everything you've just bought and head to the car.

He said: "Now, for this hack to work you're going to need two laundry baskets."

And what you're going to want to do is fill these baskets with all of your shopping.

When that's done, you just drive home, and there you can easily transport the food into the house in no time at all.

Since being posted, the video has been liked 3 million times and has received more than 33,000 comments from impressed viewers who were eager to try the hack the next time they go shopping.

One person said: "And [you're] saving the planet by not using plastic bags."

Another wrote: "I really like this. All cars should come with something cool in the back for this. if anybody makes this invention I only want 11 per cent."

"Wait. That's a good idea though," said a third.

But one person wasn't convinced as they wrote: "The time it takes to pack the laundry baskets and put them back is probably not much less than the time it takes to bag the groceries."

And another said: "But I use those bags as trash bags."

A few people were more concerned by the fact that he'd piled all of the rest of his shopping on top of his berries, as one person said: "Anyone else cringe at the fact that he put the fruit on the bottom then piled things like ground beef on top?!"
