Moving in together is a big step for couples and living in each others pockets can reveal disturbing secrets and habits your partner might not have let you in on previously.
One man claims to have recently discovered his partner has a rather unusual way of disposing of her contact lenses each night and it's left people online disturbed.
The unnamed social media user took to Reddit to share a snap of his significant other's stash of contact lenses which he claims she "throws" behind the headboard of their bed each day when she's done with them.
On the Mildly Infuriating forum, the man shared how there was now a collection of them stuck to the bottom of the wall and skirting board behind their bed.
More than 12,000 people have responded to the post with many outraged by the photo.
However, things quickly took a turn when people in the comments started claiming that the contact lenses actually belonged to the man - and not his girlfriend.
One user thought the original poster had shared the image in a bid to prove to his partner it was no big deal, but it had backfired and she had the last laugh.
They wrote: "I just saw OP's comments, and he admitted that he's the one that did this! When it blew up, his SO was like, 'told ya so.'
"Did he post this not thinking it was a big deal so he could show his SO? Only for it to seriously backfire? Wtf lol."
Others didn't care who the lenses really belonged to, they were simply baffled as to why they didn't just put them in the bin.
Someone asked: "Does she not have a small trash can by her bed?!!"
Another person said: "People like this blow my mind. Like where do you think it's gonna go? Clean that s**t up."
"It's a void you clean up once in a blue moon. As to why she started doing this instead of something less dumb and gross, idk. Weird habit," replied a different user.
Someone else proclaimed that it would be a "deal breaker" for them after zooming in on the hair stuck to the contact lenses.
A fourth added: "I just... don't get this. My house isn't perfect by any means. I put off vacuuming and dusting and scrubbing toilets. But stuff like this just adds madness to the mayhem. It's so easy to just throw them in the bathroom trashcan when you're brushing your teeth or taking off your makeup or using the restroom. So then you're not just making your house impossibly filthy.
"Also, I've worn contacts for over 20 years and could never take them out without a mirror. So kudos to that."
