Police in East Kilbride have arrested a man in relation to an alleged rape.
Rumours of the incident circulated social media on Sunday after a high police presence was spotted in the area and several streets were cordoned off.
Now a Police Scotland spokeswoman has confirmed that a man will appear in court today.
She told Lanarkshire Live : “A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault on Pine Crescent around 10.50pm on Saturday, 26 June.
“The man is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday (June 28).”
