Man seriously puzzled after unravelling Christmas tree to find a stumpy 'shrub' instead

A man has been left flabbergasted by the appearance of his real Christmas tree after purchasing one with his housemate. While he has admitted that they can come in all shapes and sizes - he was stunned by the "shrub"-like addition in his home.

Hesham - who boasts more than 4,500 followers on TikTok account @itshesh - shared a clip of his tree to the popular video-streaming service. In the video, which has surpassed a whopping 167,000 views since posting, the TikToker was keen to make light of the situation after admitting he "loves her [the tree] for who she is".

Captioning the post of the viral video, Hesham wrote: "I love it though, not all trees are perfect."

He explained: "My housemate and I got our Christmas tree today and you know how Christmas trees - real Christmas trees - come in that white netting.

"We were like, 'this one looks nice and full - let's get it!'"

He continued: "We came home, cut the nettling, let the tree rest. And when I tell you this is not a tree, it's a Christmas shrub. That's a Christmas bush!

"Like what? Where does it end? It's literally a square with a little knob at the top!

"What is this?!" He joked.

Flocking to the comments, TikTok users were in stitches over the hilarious ordeal and fled to the comments to share their cheeky comparisons.

"A beautiful Christmas square," one penned.

A second joked: "Christmas SquarePants."

A third commented: "I feel like there could be a children's story here : Chris the Square Christmas Tree."

A different user said: "Someone out there has the top half."

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "The way you still decorated it because you've accepted it already."

Hesham replied: "Yeah, we love her for who she is."
