A man has suffered serious burns to his head and arms in a shed fire at Lewiston, north of Adelaide.

The Country Fire Service (CFS) was called to a Gawler Road house about 9:30pm Sunday night.

Firefighters were able to stop the flames spreading to a house.

The CFS estimated the fire caused $40,000 worth of damage.

The man is at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious condition.

A woman was treated for smoke inhalation and also taken to hospital.

Fire investigators have been at the property this morning.

Police say the cause of the fire is undetermined but not believed to be suspicious.

Officers located two cannabis plants growing hydroponically at the scene.

Separately, police allege a 37-year-old Glengowrie woman set fire to her own Rellum Street unit yesterday.

Police and fire crews attended the fire before 9:00am on Sunday, after a member of the public reported seeing smoke billowing from the unit.

According to SA Police, the unit was engulfed in flames when patrols arrived but fire crews quickly brought the blaze under control.

The unit was destroyed and damage was done to the unit below.

She was charged with arson and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
