A 20-year-old is in a serious condition in hospital after he was shot.
Just before 7pm this evening the young man was hit in Hockley, Birmingham.
He was taken to hospital where he is currently being treated.
The road has been taped off and three police cars were at the scene as of 8.30pm this evening.
West Midlands Police said that enquiries were ongoing and that anyone with information is asked to get in touch quoting log number 3491 12/5.
Almost three years ago a father-of-four was killed in a drive-by shooting on the same street.
Mekel Sterling was gunned down while in Great Hampton Row.
The 36-year-old died in hospital.
At the time Mr Sterling’s family said in a statement: “Our son and brother was a lovely man and was loved by all.
“We will miss his beautiful soul and smile.”
