Man seriously injured in Glasgow 'disturbance' as cops launch probe

Police have launched an investigation after a man was left seriously injured following a 'disturbance' in Glasgow.

Emergency crews raced to Meiklerig Crescent on Saturday evening.

The alarm was raised at around 5.45pm.

Cops found a 25-year-old man with serious injuries.

He was raced to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Officers said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

One local resident claims the road and surrounding area was taped off by cops as their launched an investigation.

The nature of the incident is yet to be confirmed by police.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Record that enquiries are ongoing.

The spokesperson said: "At around 5.45pm on Saturday, May 8 we received a report of a disturbance on Meiklerig Crescent, Glasgow.

"A 25-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
