Man seriously injured in Glasgow 'attempted murder' attack

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was found seriously injured in a Glasgow street.

The 35-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with severe head and arm injuries last night.

Detectives believe the victim was set upon by three men before he was found in Glen Esk Drive, Darnley at 11.25pm.

Hospital staff describe his condition as serious.

Another 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and police have appealed to the public for information.

Detective Sergeant Nick Gribben of Helen Street Police Station said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding this attempted murder, and trace whoever is responsible.  

"House to house enquires are ongoing and we are checking CCTV from in and around the local area to gather more information for our investigation.

“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this attack take place, or anyone who was driving in the area of Glen Esk Drive late on Saturday night who has dash-cam footage, as they may have information that will assist our inquiry."
