Man seriously injured during attack in busy West Lothian car park

A man had been seriously injured after he was attacked as he got into his car outside a community centre in West Lothian.

The 28-year-old was in the car park of Whitburn Community Centre at 8pm on Thursday when he was assaulted.

His attacker, a man aged around 25, wore shorts, a top and glasses at the time.

The victim was treated at St John's Hospital in Livingston for serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Detective constable Lynn Myles, of Livingston CID, said: "This attack happened in a busy car park where there would have been a number of witnesses.

"A 28-year-old man has sustained serious injuries and we are appealing to members of the public who may have any information relating to this incident.

"If you were in the area at the time of this assault or have information relating to a man of this description, please contact police.

"I would also urge any drivers with dashcam footage to come forward."
