A man was seriously injured after his car was involved in a four-vehicle crash on the M1 on Wednesday evening.
The smash occurred just before junction 20 northbound on the Dublin-to Belfast road at 7pm.
A Garda spokeswoman said: “Gardaí in Dundalk attended a 4 vehicle RTC on the M1 just before junction 20 Northbound this evening, Wednesday 26th February, 2020 at 7p.m.
"One man (early 50s) was removed from the scene to Royal Victoria Hospital, in Belfast with serious injuries.
“No other persons in the remaining vehicles required medical attention.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
A section of the road was closed for a period of time and diversions were in place.
