A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was attacked in Leeds city centre.
The 48-year-old was assaulted in City Square at around 10.30am on Thursday, August 15.
West Yorkshire Police officers were called to the scene and they arrested a man on suspicion of assault.
A police spokeswoman said: "A 47-year-old man, from Leeds, was arrested at the scene in connection with the assault.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
It happened three days after a man was attacked in Bishopgate Street, near Leeds station on Monday, August 12.
The 41-year-old victim suffered serious head injuries and is in hospital in a critical condition.
Christopher Subham, 38, has been charged with grievous bodily harm, in connection with the assault.
