A man has been seriously injured after a vehicle drove off a multi-storey car park at London Luton Airport.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 11am on Sunday after a car reportedly fell from the second floor of the building.
The airport — the capital’s fourth-largest — confirmed that one person had been seriously injured and admitted to hospital for "further assessment".
Flights are running as usual, but traffic has momentarily been diverted away from both multi-storey car parks.
Bedfordshire Police said in a statement: “Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene. One person has been taken to the hospital with injuries which are thought to be serious. Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.”
Luton Airport said: “Staff are managing the exit of departing vehicles. Arriving vehicles are being redirected to the airport’s mid-stay car park until further notice.”

East of England Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance, an ambulance officer vehicle, a rapid response vehicle, the Hazardous Area Response Team and the Beds and Herts Critical Care Scheme were sent to the scene.”
Chris Smith, who had just landed in Britain from Spain, said it was "shocking" to hear what happened.
"Hopefully the chap is OK and things are all right for him," he told the BBC. "You don't expect to hear that when you return."
The car park is next to one where 1,400 vehicles were destroyed in a fire in October 2023, most likely caused by an "electrical fault or component failure" in a parked car's engine.
In April, Luton Airport was granted permission to double the number of annual passengers, from 16 to 32 million, by 2040.
The increase will be met with expanded terminal space and improved taxiways at a cost of £2.4 billion.
