Man seriously injured after car and motorbike smash

A man has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries following a collision between a car and motorbike in Leigh.

Both police and paramedics attended the incident on Holden Road at around 7.10am on Monday (May 10) morning.

Now, emergency services have confirmed that a 30-year-old man was injured.

“An ambulance attended a road traffic collision on Holden Road in Leigh following a call at 07:07. A patient in his 30s was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury,” a North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

It is thought that the collision occurred between Guest Street and Peregrine Drive.

A Greater Manchester Police statement said: “Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Holden Street, Leigh, on Monday 10 May 2021 at about 7.10am.

“A car and a motorbike had collided and the motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man, has been taken to hospital with leg injuries.”
