Man seriously injured after being stabbed outside gym on Salford retail park

A man has been left seriously hurt after being stabbed on a retail park in Salford tonight.

He was knifed on the Regents Park retail park off Regent Road and Ordsall Lane in Salford earlier this evening.

Emergency services were scrambled at around 7:10pm.

Police said they found the man, who is in his twenties, with serious injuries.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

An investigation is underway but no arrests had yet been made they added.

A police cordon remains in place tonight with a section of the car park in front of the JD Gym having been taped off.

There are also a large number of police cars still at the shopping park, close to Manchester city centre, this evening.

The gym remains open but customers are being asked to enter through a side door.

Detective Sergeant Zoe Marsden, from GMP's Salford CID, said: "A cordon is currently in place at the scene whilst officers carry out a number of enquiries at the scene.

"A lot of people may have been in the area at the time so I would ask anyone with information to come forward - even the smallest bit of information may assist with our investigation.
