Man seriously injured after being mowed down while crossing Dundee road

A pedestrian is seriously injured in hospital after being mowed down in Dundee.

The 34-year-old man was crossing Coupar Angus Road, near the junction with Landsdowne Gardens, on Tuesday night when he was hit by a car.

The motor, a white Citroen CI, struck the pedestrian at around 9.10pm.

He was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Medics say is condition is serious but stable.

The driver of the Citroen, a 23-year-old man and his passenger, a 25-year-old man were not injured as result of the crash.

Police are appealing for information and for those with dash-cam footage to come forward.

Sergeant William Strachan, Tayside Roads Policing Unit, said:

"Our enquiries into the crash are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who saw the incident, particularly motorists who were in the area and who have dash-cam footage, to get in touch.

"Information can be passed to officers at the Roads Policing Unit via 101. 

"Please quote reference number 3464 of September 22 when calling."
