A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a van on a busy road in Falkirk.
Emergency services were called to Main Street in Carronshore shortly after 1pm this afternoon, Tuesday June 29, following reports a person had been knocked down.
The road was already closed to traffic, due to the local authority and Class One Traffic Management carrying out resurfacing work on it.

An ambulance, including specialist paramedics, scrambled to the man's aid before he was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert under a police escort.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1:15pm on Tuesday June 29, officers were called to reports a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Main Street, Carronshore, Falkirk.
"He was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service were staff have described his condition as serious, but not life-threatening.
"The road is closed while enquires are carried out."
A Falkirk Council spokesperson confirmed that none of their staff or vehicles were involved.
Class One Traffic Management refused to comment to Falkirk Live.
It's the second major road traffic accident to happen in the Falkirk area today, this morning a 28-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after a two vehicle crash on Snap Brae in Bo'ness.
