Man seriously hurt in 'vicious' pub attack

A "vicious" group assault in a pub in Everton has left a man with multiple "serious" injuries.

Detectives from Merseyside Police have issued images of two men who they believe may have information following the assault at the Valley Guesthouse on St Domingo Road.

The assault happened at around 1.20am on Saturday, October 30 after a disturbance between several people at the pub.

The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital after he was assaulted by a group of men.

Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries were carried out by officers after the assault was reported and detectives have now issued images of two men who they believe could help with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: “This was a vicious attack by several men that left the victim dazed and confused with multiple serious injuries.

"I am appealing to anyone who recognises these men, to come forward. We believe they could hold vital information to our continuing enquiries.

“The incident happened during a busy time of the night when the pub would have been filled with people.

"If you were at the Valley Guesthouse or near the area at around 1.15am and witnessed the incident or anything suspicious and have captured images of the group of men on Saturday morning please contact police as a matter of urgency.”

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 21000753217.
