Man seriously assaulted on Glasgow street as locals report seeing 'pools of blood'

Cops have launched a probe after a man was seriously assaulted on a Glasgow street.

Emergency services raced to Petershill Road in the Springburn area of the city around 7.10pm on Monday December 21.

A 26-year-old man was found to be seriously injured and was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Locals online described seeing a 'pool of blood' as the shocked residents watched cops tape off the scene.

Pictures show a police van on the street amid the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 7.10pm on Monday, 21 December, officers in Glasgow received a report of a serious assault on Petershill Road.

“A 26-year-old man sustained serious injury and was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
