Man seriously assaulted by two thugs in garden of Wishaw home in targeted attack

Police are hunting two thugs who seriously assaulted a man in the garden of a Wishaw home.

The 34-year-old was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital with facial injuries after the incident at around 8pm in Stewarton Street on Sunday, August 18.

The two men, described as white tall and thin and aged in their late 40s to early 50s, fled in the direction of Dimsdale Crescent.

Detective Constable Graeme Stoddart at Wishaw CID said: “We are still trying to establish the exact circumstances of this incident but believe that this was not a random attack.

“This type of violence will not be tolerated in our communities and it is vital that we trace the men responsible.

“Anyone who has information regarding this incident is asked to contact Wishaw Police Office via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 3796 of 18 August 2019.”

Alternatively calls can be made via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
