Man sentenced for GBH after assault at bar in Nottingham city centre

A 27-year-old man has been given a 12 month suspended sentence after an assault on Thurland Street, Nottingham, on April 13, 2019.

Thomas Huskinson, of Nuthall Road, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, January 10, 2020.

Huskinson was also ordered to pay £500 in costs.

The charges relate to an incident on April 13, 2019 at a bar in Thurland Street, Nottingham.

Huskinson was on a night out with friends when he hit a man with a glass, causing a cut to the man’s head.

Simon Carter, who was involved in the investigation, said: “Incidents like this can have incredibly serious consequences both for the victim and the offender.

“We work hard to make sure that Nottingham is a safe place for people to enjoy a night out. Acts of violence are never acceptable and we will thoroughly investigate all reports made to us.”
